Long ago, the farmers of this region named this region of olive groves after him, in the hope that he bless their harvest."

I struggle to picture this reserve without the influence of the river, cutting across the landscape. Not only is it stunningly beautiful when the sun hits it at dusk, but it is so important to everyone's livelihoods out here. It's been making lives easier out here for millenia.

Settling In
Once this region had been secured by Christian forces, many of the towers and fortifications were built. Rivalries between individual kingdoms made things politically unstable, regardless of religious inclinations. Many unlikely alliances rose from this quagmire.
